Kindergarten Measurement ยท Texas TEKS K.7A and K.7B
Capacity means how much a container can hold. Let's look at cups and containers to learn the difference between full, empty, holds more, and holds less.
Look inside the same cup. A full container reaches the top, a half-full container reaches the middle, and an empty one has no drink inside.
Compare matching containers filled to the same relative level. Imagine filling them to the top to decide which holds more, less, or the same amount.
Parent tip: After playing, let your child compare two real containers using water or dry rice, with adult supervision. Pictures alone don't prove that a child can directly compare capacity.
