Using an iPhone? When the file downloads, choose Save to Files if prompted. You do not need to open or read the file. Keep it somewhere safe and private.
Having trouble saving on iPhone?
Use the iPhone Share menu to save the backup to Files. If sharing is unavailable, prepare a copyable backup and save that text privately.
For the simplest transfer, use a saved .json backup file and Restore My Child’s Progress on the new device. Never post backup text publicly.
